SENIORS: Family Connection from Naviance (Click here)
Stowe High School is pleased to introduce Family Connection from Naviance, a web-based service designed especially for students and parents. Family Connection is a comprehensive website to help make decisions about courses, colleges, and careers. Family Connection is linked with Counselor’s Office, a service that we use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that’s specific to Stowe High School. Family Connection allows for the electronic submission of college applications, letters of recommendations and transcripts to over 1,000 colleges and universities as well as all Common Application colleges. It also enables students and parents to track the college application process. Seniors and their parents will receive their Personal Access Registration Codes in the mail in August. Be sure to log on review your information and become familiar with Family Connection. Todd Fothergill, Managing Director of Strategies for College and Amy McArdle, Guidance Counselor will schedule small group computer lab sessions with seniors in September to review and set up Family Connection.
2009-2010 Well Exam Sports Clearance
Starting with the 2009-2010 school year, it is now recommended that Vermont students competing in middle or high school sports receive a “Well Exam” prior to playing school sports. The Well Exam replaces what is commonly known as a “Sports Physical.”
This change is supported by the Vermont Principals' Association, the Vermont Departments of Health and Education, the Vermont Chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Family Physicians, and the Vermont State School Nurses' Association.
