In 6th grade students take Spanish for a third of the year each. In 7th and 8th grade Spanish is a full year course.

In Spanish class students practice communication through listening and speaking. This is accomplished through songs, listening activities, role-plays, and a method called TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling .There are also reading and writing assignments throughout the year.

In addition, students will gain a knowledge and understanding of the Spanish-speaking countries and their cultures.
